Dr. Miles has published over 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has led numerous clinical trials in robotic and reconstructive surgery and written national guidelines for oropharynx and oral cavity cancer. He is on several international councils, steering committees and global educational efforts related to head and neck cancer.
Dr. Miles has lectured worldwide including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, China, Colombia, England, Greece, India, Israel, Italy, South Korea, Turkey, and extensively in the United States. Dr. Miles is course faculty for multiple courses in the United States and around the world, training the future surgeons in head and neck oncology.
Dr. Miles is Treasurer on the Executive Council of the International Association of Oral Oncology. He is on the Executive Committee of the New York Head and Neck Society. He currently serves on the board of the American Head and Neck Society's Reconstructive Section.
Dr. Miles is Professor and Chair, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Head and Neck Oncology, Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital.
He is the surgical lead of the head and neck disease management team in the Northwell Health Cancer Institute. He is Vice President Otolaryngology for Northwell facilities in New York City boroughs and Westchester County.
He has been a New York Magazine and a New York Metro Area Top Doctor for over 10 years.
Dr. Miles was the first head and neck cancer surgeon in New York City to perform virtual reality reconstruction planning. He and his team proactively stay at the forefront of new technologies that may benefit patient outcomes positively.
A global expert in head and neck cancer, Dr. Miles has presented his research in more than 14 countries and extensively in the United States.
